Hire · SE5 9HW, South London · from £80 · open 7 days
A small stage, for the work that fits one.
A pilot, a sizzle, a promo or a presenter's link does not need a sound stage; it needs a quiet room, a controlled light and somewhere to look at the take. Studio B is sound treated and blackout capable with a colour-washable cove, Studio A is 1,200 sq ft with a white drive-in cove, and the Workshop is the production office. It is a small stage, not a sound stage: there is no lighting grid and no gallery, and the page below says what that means for the work.

Straight answers
- What does tv production studio hire london cost at Scope?
- Studio B starts at £120. Studio A starts at £160. Workshop starts at £120. Music Studio starts at £80. Set-up and pack-down are inside your booked time.
- Is Scope a TV studio or a sound stage?
- Neither, and it would waste your time to imply it. It is a small stage: Studio A is 1,200 sq ft with a white drive-in cove and blackout curtains, and Studio B is a sound-treated room within a room. There is no lighting grid, no gallery and no sound stage. It suits pilots, sizzles, promos, presenter links and interviews; it does not suit a multi-set studio show that needs a gallery.
- Can we shoot a pilot or a sizzle reel at Scope?
- Yes, for the formats that live in one or two set-ups: talking heads, a host and a guest, a pitch piece, a taster for a commissioner. Studio B gives clean sound and a colour-washable background; Studio A gives a built set. The Workshop's iMacs and Studio B's edit and playback area let you look at the cut on site.
- Can we film presenter links and pieces to camera?
- Yes, in Studio B, where the sound is clean as recorded and the backdrop system and cove give the link a look of its own. No in-house kit list is published, so bring your own autocue and talkback unless we confirm otherwise, and tell us what is coming when you enquire.
- Does a TV production need broadcast compliance sorted before shooting in a studio?
- Compliance belongs to the production and the commissioner, not the room. Ofcom's Broadcasting Code governs UK broadcast content, and the commissioner's delivery specification sets the technical requirements. Check the current text and the spec before the day, not after the edit.
- Can we bring multiple cameras and our own crew?
- Yes. The booking is the room, so bring your own crew and cameras. Studio A's 1,200 sq ft has the floor for several camera positions; Studio B's floor area is on request, so tell us the camera count and the rig when you enquire and we will confirm the room works for it. We have not published an in-house kit list or power figures.
- Can the production team and a commissioner work on site?
- There is a client lounge, a kitchen and a dressing and prep room in the building, Studio B has an edit and playback area for reviewing on set and the Workshop seats up to twenty at £120 for a half day. Confidentiality arrangements are not published, so ask when you enquire if the project needs them.

How it works
- 01Say what the piece isA pilot, a sizzle, a promo and a presenter link ask different things of a room. Tell us the format, the number of set-ups and whether it is single or multi-camera, and we will say whether it is one room, two or the building.
- 02Book the roomsStudio B is £120 for two hours, £220 for a half day and £420 for a full day; Studio A is £160, £320 and £620; the Workshop is £120 for a half day and £240 for a full day. Rigging and pack-down sit inside the booked time.
- 03Quote the lightsLights are charged separately in every room but the DJ room — please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. Scope is a small stage without a lighting grid, so plan the rig around that and tell us what you are bringing.
- 04Bring the broadcast kit, or ask for itScope is the room. It is not a gallery or an outside-broadcast facility and has no live link. No in-house kit list is published, so ask what is on site and bring or source anything else. The team can source and manage crew and kit hire — cameras, lights, sound — and quote for it; none of it is priced on this site and none of it is assumed in a booking.
In the building with every booking
- Kitchen
- Dressing and prep room
- Client lounge
- High-speed Wi-Fi
- Parking
In every room but one, lights are charged separately from the room rate, so please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. The exception is the DJ room, where the professional film lighting is rigged in the room and included in the rate.
Anything not listed — ceiling heights, cove dimensions, power, capacities — is on request rather than guessed at. Ask us and you will get an exact answer.
