Before you book
How much does it cost to hire a photo or film studio for a day?
A full day (eight hours) is £620 in Studio A, the 1,200 sq ft drive-in cove, and £420 in Studio B, the sound-treated room with the colour-washable cyclorama. A half day (four hours) is £320 or £220. Lights are charged separately — please enquire about our lights — so a typical shoot day is the room rate plus the lighting quote.
What is the cheapest way to hire a studio here?
The podcast room at £40 an hour, or the music studio dry at £80 for a half day. For a cove, Studio B at £120 for two hours is the way in; Studio A starts at £160 for two hours.
Is a half or full day better value than two hours?
In Studio B, yes: two hours is £120 (£60 an hour), a half day £220 (£55 an hour) and a full day £420 (£52.50 an hour), so each longer block saves £20 on buying the shorter ones twice. In Studio A a half day is exactly two 2-hour blocks at £320, and the full day at £620 saves £20 on two half days.
Is the whole-building buyout cheaper than booking rooms one by one?
For a full day, yes. The five rooms in a buyout booked separately for eight hours come to £1,750 — Studio A £620, Studio B £420, the podcast room £320, the music studio dry £150 and the workshop £240. The buyout is from £1,500 a day and adds the kitchen, the dressing room, the parking and nobody else in the building. The DJ room is not part of a buyout and is booked separately.
What does a half day and a full day mean?
A half day is four hours. A full day is eight hours. Both run consecutively within the same day.
Is the cove included in the price?
Yes. The rate covers the room, the cyclorama and the power. There is no separate cove charge.
Are lights included?
In every room but one, no — lights are charged separately from the room rate, so please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. The exception is the DJ room, where the professional film lighting is rigged in the room and included in the rate: £75 an hour, with a four-hour minimum.
How much notice do I need to cancel?
At least 48 hours. Cancellations inside 48 hours incur a cancellation fee, and same-day cancellations or no-shows are non-refundable. The fee amount is confirmed at the time of booking.
What happens if we run over?
Additional time beyond the booked session is charged, at a rate confirmed when you book. Tell us in advance if you think you'll need it and we'll hold the room where we can.
Do you need a deposit?
Bookings are confirmed on full payment or a deposit, as specified at the time of booking.
Can I hire equipment as well as the room?
Equipment hire options are available, and lights are charged separately from the room — please enquire about our lights. The DJ room is the exception: its decks, mixer, monitors and film lighting all come with the booking, and the turntables and microphone are set up on request at no extra cost. Email us with your kit list and we'll tell you what we can cover in-house and what you'll want to bring.
