Hire · SE5 9HW, South London · from £120 · open 7 days

Twenty seats, one door, nobody in the corridor.

A casting day is a waiting room and a quiet room, run on a schedule that slips. The workshop room seats twenty and runs as a casting room; the client lounge in the same building holds the people who are next; and Studio B is in the same building when a read has to be filmed with sound you can send to the director that evening.

How it works

  1. 01Send the scheduleHow many are coming through, in what slots, and whether the reads are filmed or in the room. That decides between the workshop alone, Studio B alone, or both.
  2. 02Book the half or the full dayThe workshop is £120 for four hours and £240 for eight. Studio B is £120 for two hours, £220 for a half day and £420 for a full day. Set-up, the overrun and pack-down sit inside the booked time.
  3. 03Use the lounge as the waiting roomThe client lounge, the kitchen and the dressing and prep room are in the building, so the next three people are not standing in the corridor outside the door.
  4. 04Light the filmed readIf the reads are filmed in Studio B, lights are charged separately from the room rate — please enquire about our lights and we will quote for a clean, flat casting look.

In the building with every booking

  • Kitchen
  • Dressing and prep room
  • Client lounge
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • Parking

In every room but one, lights are charged separately from the room rate, so please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. The exception is the DJ room, where the professional film lighting is rigged in the room and included in the rate.

Anything not listed — ceiling heights, cove dimensions, power, capacities — is on request rather than guessed at. Ask us and you will get an exact answer.

Straight answers

What does casting studio hire london cost at Scope?
Workshop starts at £120. Studio B starts at £120. Set-up and pack-down are inside your booked time.
Is there a waiting area for a casting?
Yes. The client lounge is in the building, along with the kitchen and the dressing and prep room, so the people waiting are away from the room where the reads are happening.
Can casting reads be filmed with good sound?
In Studio B, yes. It is built as a room within a room and sound treated, with an adjustable backdrop system for a plain background, so the filmed read goes to the director clean. The workshop room itself is a bright working room, not a sound-treated one.
How many people fit in the casting room?
The workshop room seats up to twenty, with ten iMac workstations in the room. Capacities for the other rooms are on request rather than guessed, so tell us how many you expect at once and we will confirm.
Do you provide a reader, a camera operator or casting kit?
No. The booking is the room; we have not published an in-house kit list, so bring your own camera and tell us what else you need when you enquire and we will confirm it in writing. Lights are charged separately — please enquire about our lights.
Do we need releases or insurance for a casting day?
You should have the usual release forms for anyone recorded, and every production needs appropriate insurance; Scope is not liable for personal injury or for loss or damage to your property. Minors must be supervised throughout.
