Studio A seen head-on: a white infinity cove framed between black blackout curtains, grey studio floor

Hire · SE5 9HW, South London · from £80 · open 7 days

From the treatment to the take.

A creative team arrives with a treatment and a set of boards and needs a room that does what the boards say. Studio A is 1,200 sq ft of white drive-in cove with blackout, for the hero product, the set build or the car; Studio B takes the performance and the pack shot in a sound-treated, colour-washable room. The voiceover can be recorded in the music studio the same day, in the same building.

How it works

  1. 01Send the treatment and the boardsThe boards tell us how many set-ups there are, what has to be built and what arrives on wheels. Studio A takes the build, the product and the vehicle; Studio B takes the performance and the pack shot. If the spot needs a large stage with a lighting grid, we will say so before you book: Scope is a small stage, not a sound stage.
  2. 02Book the blockStudio A is £160 for two hours, £320 for a half day and £620 for a full day; Studio B is £120, £220 and £420. The build, the shoot and the strike all sit inside the booked time, so a build day is a booked day. Cancellation needs 48 hours' notice.
  3. 03Quote the lightsLights are charged separately in every room but the DJ room — please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. Tell us the look on the board, whether it is a flat wash on the cove or one hard source on the product, so the quote covers it.
  4. 04Record the voice the same dayBook the music studio dry or with an engineer, so the read is recorded while the set is still standing and the agency is still in the building.

In the building with every booking

  • Kitchen
  • Dressing and prep room
  • Client lounge
  • High-speed Wi-Fi
  • Parking

In every room but one, lights are charged separately from the room rate, so please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. The exception is the DJ room, where the professional film lighting is rigged in the room and included in the rate.

Anything not listed — ceiling heights, cove dimensions, power, capacities — is on request rather than guessed at. Ask us and you will get an exact answer.

Straight answers

What does advertising agency studio hire london cost at Scope?
Studio A starts at £160. Studio B starts at £120. Music Studio starts at £80. Set-up and pack-down are inside your booked time.
Can an advertising agency build a set in a hire studio?
Yes, in Studio A: 1,200 sq ft with a white drive-in infinity cove, and flats, furniture and vehicles come in at ground level through the roller door. The build and the strike sit inside the booked time, and ask before you fix to, paint or stand anything heavy on the cove. Ceiling height is on request, so send the tallest piece when you enquire.
Can we shoot a hero product and a car in the same day?
Yes. Studio A's cove is drive-in, so the car comes to the light, and the hero product can run on the same seamless white or in Studio B's colour wash in the same building. Tell us the vehicle's dimensions when you enquire; door and cove measurements are on request and we will confirm the access route.
Which room should we use for a presenter or actor with dialogue?
Studio B. It is built as a room within a room and sound treated, so the line comes back usable as recorded. Studio A is not sound treated; plan anything spoken to camera for Studio B, or record it wild in the music studio's vocal booth.
What is the difference between booking the room and booking a production?
A room booking is the room at the published rate, with set-up and pack-down inside it. A production is the room plus whatever the job needs: crew, camera, lighting and grip kit, set design and builds, props, talent and casting, catering, post-production. The team can source and manage those and quote for them; none of it is priced on this site and nothing outside the room is assumed to be included.
Can the creative team and the client sit in on the shoot?
Yes. There is a client lounge, a kitchen and a dressing and prep room in the building, and Studio B has an edit and playback area for reviewing on set. The Workshop seats up to twenty at £120 for a half day if the team wants a room of its own.
Can we bring our own director of photography, crew and kit?
Yes. The booking is the room, so bring your own. We have not published an in-house kit list, so tell us what is coming and what you want supplied and we will confirm what is on site in writing before the day.
