Studio A during a live shoot, seen wide across the white infinity cove with softboxes either side

Hire · SE5 9HW, South London · from £120 · open 7 days

Thirty seconds, built in a day.

Adverts are made against the clock: a product, a presenter or a car, a handful of set-ups, and a client in the lounge waiting to see the frame. Studio A gives the commercial its seamless white and its scale, Studio B gives the dialogue and the pack shot a quiet, colour-washable room, and the whole building can be yours for a closed set.

How it works

  1. 01Send the boardsStoryboards or a treatment tell us how many set-ups you need and whether the pack shot, the presenter and the hero product can share one room or want two. If the spot needs a large-format stage with a grid, we will say so and save you a recce.
  2. 02Book the blockStudio A and Studio B sell in 2 hour, half day and full day blocks with set-up and pack-down inside the booked time. A whole-building buyout from £1,500 a day closes the set to everyone but your crew and your client; the DJ room sits outside it.
  3. 03Quote the lightsLights are charged separately from the room rate in both studios — please enquire about our lights with the look you are after and we will quote for it in writing.
  4. 04Load in from the yardParking is on site in the yard and load-in to Studio A is at ground level through the roller door, so the grip truck, the set and the hero car come straight in.

Straight answers

What does commercial shoot studio london cost at Scope?
Studio A starts at £160. Studio B starts at £120. Workshop starts at £120. Set-up and pack-down are inside your booked time.
Can we shoot a TV or social advert at Scope?
Yes. Studio A is a 1,200 sq ft drive-in cove studio with full blackout and Studio B is a sound-treated room with a colour-washable cyclorama; between them they cover the product, presenter, pack-shot and performance set-ups most adverts are made from. What we are not is a large-format stage with a lighting grid — if the build needs one, we will tell you before you book.
Can the client and agency work on site during a commercial shoot?
Yes. There is a client lounge, a kitchen and a dressing and prep room in the building, and the workshop room — twenty seats, ten iMac workstations, £120 for a half day — runs as a production office or a review room for the day.
Can we record a voiceover for the advert the same day?
Yes. The music studio has a treated vocal booth with a large-diaphragm condenser, bookable dry from £80 for a half day or with an engineer from £140 a half day, so the voiceover can be read and recorded while the floor is still shooting.
Is Studio A sound treated for sync dialogue?
No. Studio A is the room for scale, blackout and the drive-in cove; Studio B is the sound-treated room, built as a room within a room, and it is where we would plan anything with a presenter speaking to camera.
Do you supply lights, grip or camera for a commercial?
Lights are charged separately from the room rate in every room but the DJ room — please enquire about our lights and we will quote. We have not published an in-house kit list, so tell us what you are bringing and what you want supplied and we will confirm it in writing before the day.
