Terms and Conditions of Hire
These terms apply to every booking of a space at Scope Media Studios. They cover how a booking is confirmed, what happens if plans change, who is responsible for what while you are in the building, and who owns the work you make here. Booking a space means you accept them. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book rather than after.
1Bookings and confirmation
A booking is confirmed only upon full payment, or upon payment of a deposit where a deposit is specified at the time of booking. Until that payment is received, the date and the room are not held.
The deposit amount, where one applies, is confirmed to you at the time of booking.
2Prices
Prices are as listed on this website and are subject to change without notice.
The price that applies to your booking is the price confirmed to you when the booking is made.
3Session lengths
Where a rate is described as a half day, that means four hours. Where a rate is described as a full day, that means eight hours.
Booked time includes your set-up and your pack-down. If you need the room clear and lit before the shoot begins, book the time you actually need.
4Cancellations and rescheduling
Bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the booking incur a cancellation fee. The amount of that fee is confirmed at the time of booking.
No-shows and same-day cancellations are non-refundable.
5Arrival and overrunning
Clients must arrive on time. A late arrival does not extend the booked session — the room is released at the end of the booked slot, and another production may be coming in behind you.
Additional time used beyond the booked session incurs extra charges. The rate for additional time is confirmed at the time of booking.
6Use of the space and equipment
Clients are responsible for any damage caused to equipment or facilities during their booking.
This includes damage caused by anyone you bring into the building — crew, talent, contractors and guests.
7Under-18s
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times while in the building.
8Liability
Scope Media Studios is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to client property.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9Insurance
Clients must have appropriate insurance cover in place for their production. This is your responsibility to arrange, and we may ask to see it.
10Your content and your rights
Clients retain all rights to the content they produce at Scope Media Studios. We do not claim any interest in your work.
We may ask permission to use behind-the-scenes footage or images from your booking. We will not use any such material without your prior written consent.
11Conduct
Disruptive, abusive or inappropriate behaviour may result in the immediate termination of the session without refund.
This applies to everyone present under your booking, not only the person who made it.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
