Light that comes down from the sky.

The Workshop is the room at Scope you light with the sky rather than a rig. Daylight comes down through the original circular ceiling light well onto white painted brick and a herringbone floor, and for a shoot the desks and iMacs are cleared and the room is a daylight photography studio and film set.

How it works

  1. 01Book the shoot calendarDaylight shoots have their own online calendar on the Workshop page, separate from training. Pick the date and the block; the room is cleared for you. Want to talk it through first? Email us.
  2. 02Pick the blockTwo hours £160, a half day £320, a full day £620 — the same as Studio A. Set-up and pack-down sit inside the booked time.
  3. 03Plan for the weatherDaylight varies with the sky and the time of day. Treat it as a soft overhead source, and if the look has to hold all day, ask us to quote lights to add to it.

Straight answers

What does daylight studio hire london cost at Scope?
Workshop starts at £160 for a shoot (2 hours £160, half day £320, full day £620), booked online in its own shoot calendar. Set-up and pack-down are inside your booked time.
Where does the daylight come from?
From above, through the room's original circular ceiling light well. It falls onto white painted brick walls and a herringbone floor, so the light is soft and overhead rather than a hard window beam.
Is the daylight the same all day?
No — it is daylight, so it changes with the weather and the time of day. If the look has to stay identical from first frame to last, a blackout room such as Studio A or Studio B is the better fit, or add lights here; lights are charged separately, so please enquire about our lights.
Are the desks and computers in the way?
No. The Workshop is also a training room with ten iMacs, and for a shoot the desks and iMacs are cleared so the floor is yours.
How do I book a daylight shoot?
Online, in the Daylight Studio calendar on the Workshop page — two hours, a half day or a full day. It is separate from the Workshop's training calendar, which stays £120 a half day and £240 a full day, and the two share the room so nothing double-books. Email or the enquiry form is there if you would rather talk the shoot through first.
