Shoot once. Fill every placement.

A media plan is a list of placements, and each one wants its own length, its own frame and sometimes its own line of copy. The cheapest place to meet that list is the one day in front of the camera: shot once, in a room that holds its light, with the client able to see the frame before the set is struck. Studio A and Studio B take the hero set-ups, the Podcast Room takes the voiced pieces by the hour, and the Workshop is where the cuts are checked against the list.

How it works

  1. 01Build the matrix before you bookList every placement with its length, its aspect ratio and its copy, then group them by set-up: everything that shares a background and a light is one set-up. That list decides the room and the block, and it is the document the client signs off. The guides below cover the method.
  2. 02Book the block that fits the listStudio A is £160 for two hours, £320 for a half day and £620 for a full day; Studio B is £120, £220 and £420; the Podcast Room is a flat £40 an hour. Studio A, Studio B, the Podcast Room, the Music Studio and the Workshop each have an online calendar, and nothing is held until it is booked and paid for. Set-up and pack-down sit inside the booked time.
  3. 03Quote the lights and the restLights are charged separately in every room but the DJ room — please enquire about our lights and we will quote for what your shoot needs. If the matrix also needs crew, camera and grip kit, set builds, props or post-production, the team can source and manage them and quote for them; none of it is priced on this site and none of it is assumed in a room booking.
  4. 04Sign off on site, then hand overStudio B's edit and playback area is there for the take, the client lounge holds the client between set-ups, and the Workshop's iMacs take the selects. The client owns their content; how it is named, versioned and delivered is yours to set.

Straight answers

What does media agency studio hire london cost at Scope?
Studio A starts at £160. Studio B starts at £120. Podcast Room starts at £40. Workshop starts at £120. Set-up and pack-down are inside your booked time.
What is a campaign asset matrix and why build it before booking a studio?
It is a grid of every placement against its length, aspect ratio and copy, grouped by the set-up that can produce it. Built before the day, it tells you how many set-ups there are, which room each belongs in and how long the block needs to be, so the day is spent shooting rather than deciding. The campaign asset matrix guide in the journal sets out the method.
Can we shoot 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 from the same set-up?
Yes, as a way of working: take each version of a look before the wash or the background changes, and frame so the widest and the vertical both survive. The room does not decide the frame; the camera does. We have not published cove dimensions, so tell us the lens and the distance when you enquire and we will confirm the frame works before you book.
Can the client approve takes on site?
Studio B has a dedicated edit and playback area for reviewing on set, and the building has a client lounge and a kitchen, so the client can sit away from the floor between set-ups. Who needs to be on set and who signs what is for the agency to agree before the day; the room's job is to make playback possible.
Can several versions or languages be recorded in one booking?
Yes, inside the booked time. The Podcast Room is a flat £40 an hour, so spoken variants are priced as hours rather than blocks, and Studio B is sound treated for voiced pieces on camera. Check each version's copy and legal lines before the day rather than after it.
Does Scope take purchase orders or offer account terms to agencies?
Account terms, invoicing, purchase-order handling and supplier onboarding are not published, so ask when you enquire rather than assume. What is published is the booking itself: the rates, an online calendar for five of the rooms, 48 hours' notice to cancel, set-up and pack-down inside the booked time, and non-refundable same-day cancellations and no-shows. Clients must hold appropriate insurance.
Is a whole-building day sensible for a large asset shoot?
When the matrix needs several looks running at once — a set in Studio A, a colour set in Studio B, voiced pieces in the Podcast Room and the Workshop as the production office — a whole-building buyout from £1,500 a day puts them under one booking with the kitchen, the dressing room and the parking, and nobody else on site. The DJ room sits outside it. For a single set-up, one room by the block costs less.
