Five Nights at Wembley: The Weeknd Took the National Stadium
One of the highest-grossing tours ever staged parked itself at Wembley for five stadium nights in six days, 14–19 August, with Playboi Carti in support.
For six days in August, Wembley Stadium belonged to one artist. The Weeknd played five nights — 14, 15, 16, 18 and 19 August — on the After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour, with Playboi Carti opening every date. The booking did not start this big: three additional London dates were added to the original run, stretching a stadium stop into something closer to a takeover.
The scale is the story. Time Out reports the tour is already one of the most-attended, highest-grossing tours of all time, with more than two dozen shows still to come before it closes in October. Five nights at the national stadium is the kind of arithmetic normally reserved for farewell tours — and this one is a victory lap through a trilogy: After Hours, Dawn FM and Hurry Up Tomorrow, played out across a set running roughly two hours.

The practical footnotes matter at this size: the Sunday show on 16 August runs to an earlier curfew — gates at 4:30pm, on stage 7:40pm — while the other nights open at 5pm for an 8:10pm start. Wembley on a curfew is still Wembley.
And it is not even the only takeover in town: Ariana Grande's ten sold-out O2 nights open on 15 August, mid-run. Two artists of this size, two residencies, one city, one week — August in London is carrying itself like a festival.
